Sega defers comment on rumored Nights to '08 delay

A Sega of America representative deferred comment on Wednesday amid reports earlier this week that the company's Nights: Journey of Dreams sequel for Wii had been delayed until the first quarter of 2008.

On Monday, NightsIntoDreams.com reported that a elevated source deep within the bowls of Sega headquarters had revealed to them that Nights II on Wii had been delayed until Q1 2008, to which the fansite claims a Sega PR manager later confirmed.

However, when asked by GamePro, Sega of America officials deferred comment on the rumor even saying they had yet to hear of the delay.

Currently, Nights: Journey of Dreams for Wii is listed as a Fall 2007 release on Sega's website.

Nights on Wii is the first sequel to the 1996 Saturn cult classic, Nights into Dreams. Shortly after its release, the game was praised for its colorful visuals, unique characters, and original gameplay. The title has since appeared on several "greatest games" lists.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar Though I'm a big fan of the original game, I actually hope Sega delays Journey of Dreams even further due to the assailment of promising games coming this fall. Wouldn't want to overlook this one because of poor timing.
