Miyamoto recently told Famitsu magazine of Japan that hardcore gamers and casual gamers have more in common than meets the eye; the pursuit of fun being principle among them.
"The fact is, I don't think there is such a wall between both audiences," he said. "While there are indeed games designed for core and casual markets, core users are also enjoying casual gaming. We need to release more games which feel like games."
He went on to say, "I think the future is games that are not difficult and yet very fun to play. What I mean is that there is no point in making a difficulty level the fun factor of a game."
Does this mean you won't need any more strategy guides when it comes to completing a game made by Nintendo? Not necessarily as Miyamoto merely implies that players should be easily introduced into a game as is the case with Super Mario Galaxy which appeals to both casual and core players according to Nintendo.
"It is important that people who are playing games feel that they are indeed fun to play... It is very important that the full fun of the game is being felt in the first stage 1-1."
