Starting today, Wii owners can download a special Metroid Prime 3: Corruption preview. The included trailers are merely streamed from the internet and do not support Enhanced Definition or widescreeen, but it marks the first time Nintendo has offered downloadable trailers on Wii a la Xbox 360 and PS3.

In preparation for Metroid Prime 3's August 27th release, Nintendo will debut two new Metroid games onto virtual console this month: Metroid on August 13 for 500 points ($5), and Super Metroid on August 20 for 800 points ($8). Additional Prime 3 trailers will be available on August 13 as well.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar It's good to see Nintendo promote one of its biggest franchises the month of its release (finally). Though I personally would have hoped for better visual fidelity, the trailers and upcoming Metroid VC titles are much appreciated. Anyone pumped for this game?
