Unreal Tournament to support PS3 mouse, keyboard

Epic president Mark Rein confirmed on Monday via a post on his company's website that Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3 would support mouse and keyboard controls in addition to Sixaxis.

"Yes we will have PS3 keyboard and mouse support in Unreal Tournament 3," Rein told inquiring gamers.

"We are doing it in a way that will be balanced without feeling 'gimped' for either side," he added, calming fears that much faster mouse and keyboard controls would cause an unfair advantage to those using slower, dual-anlog sticks.

"We'll also allow people to choose whether or not they want to allow mixed controller vs. keyboard/mouse games or not," Rein said before adding that Unreal Tournament 3 would not be coming to Xbox 360 until sometime next year.

Epic announced at E3 in early July that Unreal Tournament 3 would support online multiplayer and mod creation/play between both PS3 and PC owners.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar While I'm not sure how practical mouse and keyboards are in the living room, I definitely like the option. Blake with mouse and keyboard in a FPS > Blake with dual-analog sticks in a FPS.
