If the PS3 is faster, third-parties don't seem to know

Madden NFL 08, All-Pro Football 2K8, and NCAA Football 08 will run at 60 frames per second on Xbox 360 as compared to just 30 frames per second on the PS3 confirmed. As a result, the Xbox 360 version is expected to feature smoother animations despite the PS3's faster processor.
Madden NFL 08 to run smoother on 360
"We have already proven that sports titles can run on the PlayStation 3 at true HD with 1080p output with NBA 07," said Sony's Dave Karraker in a statement to 1UP. "If you have questions about specific third-party games, you should speak to those publishers."
While 2K Games declined comment on the subject, EA's VP of marketing offered the following: "As you can see, every company making a football game this year made a decision that the best experience for the Xbox 360 included 60fps whereas the best experience for the PS3 was 30fps. We certainly believe that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of our football products are outstanding experiences and recommend that each gamer look at the entire experience, not just one aspect."
The news comes amid PS3 scrutiny when compared to the Xbox 360 in terms of processing power and ease of development. Just last month, both a report and statements made by Sony to GamePro confirmed that while the PS3 is faster than the Xbox 360 from a raw power perspective, developers have a more difficult time developing for PS3 than 360 due to the former's specialized hardware.
"If your game starts on Xbox 360 you will have to re-engineer aspects of the game to run properly on PS3," Sony told us. "This means additional effort. Some developers have been complaining about this, but I don't believe we can solve that," they said.
Perhaps developers are still feeling the sting then.
Granted, game makers have been working on Xbox 360 a full year longer than PS3. But if Sony can't beat Microsoft on price, smoother graphics, or overall games enough to justify the PS3's current $200 premium, it could continue to be a bumpy ride for Sony.
