The debate has now been settled. IGN today unveiled the final box art for the PS3's exclusive shooter Warhawk. This confirms that the multiplayer only game will be available for pick-up at retail stores as a Blu-Ray disc, as well as being a downloadable title on the PlayStation Store. The game will release simultaneously in both formats sometime in late August/early September.

As an additional incentive, customers who opt for the Blu-ray version will receive a voice communication headset bundled in the package. The disc will also contain bonus content, including such extras as "the-making-of" documentaries and other related fare. However, the pricing structure has yet to be determined for either the retail or downloadable SKU.

Developer studio Incognito's re-imagining of the original Warhawk aerial combat game has now added ground warfare to the mix in a multiplayer free-for-all supporting up to 32 gamers. Tanks, hovercrafts and jeeps have been added to the battlefield in addition to customizable soldiers and the titular fighter jets.
