They said it couldn't be done, but it looks like Namco Bandai is actually doing it. A report from Tekken fansite SD Tekken has drawn our attention to a tiny piece in the latest issue of Japan's Famitsu magazine, stating that online versus play will soon be added to the PS3 version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.
Famitsu confirms that a leaderboard will also be implemented along with the online vs. mode. However, in addition to the brand new online features, the magazine also states that a survival mode and a much-needed practice mode will also be added.
As far as pricing goes, Famitsu announces that this new version will cost gamers 2800 yen on the PlayStation Store (an increase of 800 yen from the previous price). However, gamers who already own the first game can upgrade their copy for 1000 yen. The upgrade has so far only been announced for the Japanese version of the title, but a similar announcement could soon reach the North American and PAL-region markets.
