SCEA reports that Resistance gamers will only have to wait a few more days to get their hands on the map pack and the joys associated with worldwide online play.

Although Sony had promised that their newest Resistance: Fall of Man patch would be ready by the "end of May", we obviously don't have to report to PS3 owners that it hasn't arrived yet. While we do know that the update will contain new maps and the ability to play against gamers from all over the world, what we don't know is when exactly the update will hit.
Until now, of course. According to a report from CVG, the new target date has now been changed to June 7th. Greg Phillips from SCEA confirmed the date in a recent conversation with the gaming site, and added that the primary reason for the delay was a last minute adjustment to Sony's worldwide servers to accommodate the new intercontinental play.
"The DLC, itself, is on track and ready to go as promised by Insomniac back in March," Phillips states. "The reason for the delay is we needed a little extra time to get the global servers locked in and ready for thousands of players to come knocking. We would rather have a short delay and continue to deliver on our over the top, online experience."
