Much to the joy of Wii gamers across the nation, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption will not be released in the U.S. at the end of the year, contrary to prior reports indicating a later-than-expected release date for the heavily-awaited title.
According to a recent Nintendo press release announcing their U.S. lineup for Summer 2007, Corruption is scheduled for release on August 20th and will be the season's main attraction out of the Wii's short list of first party titles. The company is also working on the development of Mario Strikers Charged (due on July 30th) and Battalion Wars 2 (scheduled for September).
As for third party games, a number of titles stand out from the crowd of usual suspects. Although Madden NFL '08 will, of course, be making an appearance on the Wii on August 14th, it will be accompanied on the same day by its EA running mate, Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08. Namco's Space Station Tycoon and Crave's Dave Mirra BMX Challenge round out the list of other August titles.
As for first-party DS titles, Nintendo has planned to release Picross DS on July 30th, Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day on August 20th, DK Jungle Climber on September 10th, and Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol on September 24th.
