Crackdown DLC available NOW!

While Crackdown fans had been waiting to hear word of a release date for the game's torrent of downloadable content, the goods may have been right under our noses the whole time. Silly Microsoft. You're supposed to tell us these things.

Just yesterday, GamePro reported on the details surrounding the latest updates and patches for the Xbox 360's critically acclaimed sandbox crimefighting game Crackdown. But, if you thought that you would have to wait until next week to get your hands on the bundles of downloadable content, think again. In a somewhat belated press release, Realtime Worlds and Microsoft Game Studios have announced that the three Crackdown updates, including the gameplay patch, the free add-on pack, and the premium add-on pack, are available on the Xbox Live Marketplace right nooow.

As we reported previously, the updates contain various gameplay upgrades, and a few free additions to enhance gameplay: namely, the addition of a vehicle impound garage and a "true" sandbox cheat mode. However, the more interesting upgrades come only with the "Gettin' Busy" download package, which has been priced at 800 Microsoft Points. Users who purchase this option will be able to use three new agency vehicles, four new agency weapons, an Agent cloaking device, a street racing mode and a host of new co-op mode mini-games.

For a full explanation of these new add-ons, head over to GamePro's detailed list. Or, you can just download them on Xbox Live for yourself. We don't mind. We really don't.
