According to a recent message from Microsoft, an exact release date has finally been set for Shadowrun, the new first-person shooter developed by FASA Studio for both PCs and Xbox 360s. As the game has just recently gone gold, the company is currently prepping for its imminent release on May 29th.

As GamePro had reported previously, Shadowrun will be one of the first games to be fully supported by the Games for Windows -- Live network, meaning that PC users will be able to interact with Xbox 360s gamers and vice versa. Owners of either version will be able to battle it out with each other in deathmatches that can accommodate up to 16 gamers at once.

The announcement also reports that the game will come packaged with nine unique multiplayer maps, as well as three additional map variations. Also, gamers wishing to sharpen their skills are allowed to take part in the game's six training chapters, all while getting a feel for the game's "intuitively smart and talented" AI bots.

In terms of pricing, the announcement states that the M-rated Shadowrun has been tagged with an MSRP of $59.99 for Xbox 360 and $49.99 for Windows Vista.
