In a recent announcement, Sony has finally revealed the contents of today's weekly update on the PlayStation Store, and thankfully, the new items aren't just demos and trailers. Surprisingly, Sony is bent on making up for lost time by releasing two brand new games: a direct port of the classic arcade game Gauntlet II ($4.99), and the oft-delayed Super Rub a Dub ($6.99). In fact, a demo for Super Rub a Dub has been made available alongside the full version of the game.
In addition, Sony has also introduced the first wave of original PlayStation games that can be played on both PSP and PS3. Starting now, the downloadable versions of 2Xtreme, Crash Bandicoot, Destruction Derby, Jet Moto, Jumping Flash, MediEvil, Rally Cross, Syphon Filter, Tekken 2, and WipeOut can all be played on both systems. That leaves only two on the original list of twelve (CoolBoarders and Hot Shots Golf 2) that have yet to be ported over, but it will probably only be a matter of time before all the games and then some make the shift.
Lastly, Sony has also offered new trailers for three upcoming games: Super Stardust HD, Rampart, and BlackSite Area 51. In addition to that, PS3 owners can also download the new movie trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
