Tabula Rasa set for autumn release

NCsoft announced that closed beta testing for their sci-fi / fantasy MMO Tabula Rasa is underway, with an official release set for fall of this year.

NCsoft revealed today that their upcoming MMO Tabula Rasa has entered its final development stages. Additionally, a closed beta for the game is currently underway, with a projected release date on American and European PCs set for this fall.

Tabula Rasa is an MMO that will attempt to blend traditional fantasy-based gameplay with first person shooter action. The game is in development at Destination Games, overlooked by Ultima Online creator and MMORPG pioneer Richard Garriott. As executive producer of NCSoft and Destination Games, Garriott hopes to bring his past experience with the genre to the forefront with this game.

"With fast-action and tactical combat in an RPG setting, a deep and interesting fictional universe, and many feature innovations, we think we've created a game that represents the next generation of MMO games and will revolutionize the way people play online games," Garriott commented, "This is an exciting time for the Tabula Rasa team. With closed beta testing now in progress, we're excited to hear more what our players think."
