Bethesda Softworks has finally released a complete, official patch to fix the fatal game-breaking bug infecting Oblivion expansion pack The Shivering Isles.

Last week, we reported that developers Bethesda Softworks planned a Monday release of the full patch for the game crippling bug in Shivering Isles, the expansion set for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Although it's a day later than expected, the patch is finally available for PC and Xbox 360 gamers to download starting today.
The game's severe bug rendered the game unplayable on both formats after extended play, with PC fans being affected between 50 and 120 hours in to the game, whereas Xbox 360 gamers would begin to witness problems in around 75 to 150 of play. PC users can download the official patch from the official Elder Scrolls site, while Xbox 360 fans can find the fix on Xbox Live.
Bethesda notes, however, that expansions bought through direct2drive aren't compatible with this new patch. Additionally, gamers that decided to make use of the beta patch will need to reinstall the game in order to fully fix the problem.
