Island of Rhodes mystery solved; God of War PSP title gets a name

The timer finally counted down to zero last night, and the "Island of Rhodes" viral marketing mystery has finally ended, resulting in Sony's roundabout announcement of God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP.

As GamePro had mentioned earlier, the countdown on the mysterious Island of Rhodes site ended late last night, leading fans to a few more tricks, a few more tips, and a few more infuriating puzzles.

After clicking on the Three Fates, dragging thumbnail pics across a computer screen, answering a few trivia questions, and being treated to a few more movies of developer commentary, visitors to the God of War teaser site were treated to an open invitation to receive a demo of the upcoming PSP game God of War: Chains of Olympus, which has been confirmed as a prequel to the original God of War saga on the PS2. Those interested in receiving the free UMD demo must head over to Sony's site and register at: http://us.playstation.com/godofwar_chainsofolympus/

Those of you who went straight to the teaser site may have missed out on this little cheat made available on Island of Rhodes, however. According to the developers:

In the Sister 2 Temple, in the top room before you exit outside out to the grapple area (on the way to the vine puzzle), there's a little star on the ground in the top balcony area. Stand over the star and press R2.

Run out of the doorway and look for another star to the left of the door you just exited. Press R2 a second time.

Run quickly through the grapple points, turn the corner, and run over the vine to the rocky island. Look for a third star on the ground between the two dead trees, press R2.

    Must be done very quickly.
