Medal of Honor: Airborne has seen its release date pushed back a number of times since it was first announced back in January of 2006. Originally slated for winter 2006, the game was later moved back to March 31, 2007. That date was also eventually scrapped, but exclusive trailers and promotional banner ads on GameStop proclaim the game's newest release date to be August 28.

Airborne, the newest Medal of Honor title to be developed by EA's Los Angeles studio, will plunge players into the role of paratrooper Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Division during World War II. The game will highlight a number of major campaigns of the war, including D-Day and Operation Varsity, the largest ever military airdrop in modern history, which saw 30,000 soldiers parachuting into Germany.

Electronic Arts was not on hand to confirm or deny the release date, but all signs seem to indicate that this will be the release date for the time being. GamePro will keep you updated when we find out more.
