According to a report from Japanese tech site Impress Watch, Capcom is currently working with NVIDIA to release a version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on PCs sometime this June. The game will be developed for Windows Vista, and will make full use of the OS' DirectX 10 technology. Graphical resolutions for this version will reportedly reach as high as 2560x1600, which is significantly higher than those of the Xbox 360 version.
When asked whether Lost Planet would eventually be developed for other operating systems besides Windows Vista, a spokesperson for NVIDIA stated that the information regarding other versions "could not be confirmed at this time".
So far, there's doesn't seem to be any major changes to the gameplay or additional features planned for the PC port of the game. Although the game will so far be Vista exclusive, there has been no mention of whether the game would make uses of Microsoft "Games for Windows - LIVE" service.
This news somewhat contradicts Capcom's recent claim that Lost Planet would remain an Xbox 360 exclusive, and has since downgraded it to being a "timed exclusive". However, Capcom did specifically state that the game would not be making an appearance on the PS3 or Wii, which did not rule out the possibility of a version for home computers.
Impress Watch also noted that the June release date applies to both the American and European markets. A subsequent release date for the Japanese market is yet to be announced.
