Sony on Jaffe's Blu-ray comments: He can "speak his mind" anytime

Speaking to GamePro, Sony has responded to David Jaffe's recent comments concerning Blu-ray. The verdict? Jaffe is free to "speak his mind on anything he wants when it comes to videogames."
Sony isn't upset with Jaffe's recent Blu-ray comments
Yesterday, Game Trailers asked God of War creator David Jaffe what he would change concerning the PS3. Jaffe responded that "I probably would have taken the Blu-ray out and sold it for less money."
Today, Sony gave GamePro an official response to Jaffe's much-hyped Blu-ray comments, saying that Jaffe "has earned the right to speak his mind on anything he wants when it comes to videogames."
"While we respect [Jaffe's] opinion, we feel strongly that the future of gaming lies in the ability to deliver more to the consumer -- more gameplay options, more lifelike graphics, more dynamic sound -- all in high definition," Sony's Dave Karakker continues. "To do that, you need a storage vehicle such as the 50 GB Blu-ray disc, because your standard 9 GB DVD simply can't handle the demands of true next-generation gaming."
Well, good for Sony. They didn't apologize and they shouldn't...it's also very unclear what Jaffe actually says in the final interview, which hasn't aired yet.
But I don't think that game developers should be muzzled. Getting them to talk openly and honestly can only help the industry.
