To import gamers: Famitsu.com has released new screenshots, a track list, and even a definite release date for the much-awaited sequel to Ouendan, and it's coming a lot sooner than you think.

A recent issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine was the first to break out the information regarding Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, the sequel to the cult import hit Ouendan (the original Japanese version of Elite Beat Agents). But for the benefit of readers who weren't able to pick up the print magazine, Famitsu.com has just released new information pertinent to the title, and fans of J-Pop and rhythm games will be tickled pink with the news.
Coach - these are the new recruits!
The biggest news is the fact that the game has a set release date of May 17th, which is a heckuva lot better than the vague "sometime in 2007" release that had previously been announced. Famitsu has also provided new screenshots of one of the levels, in which your services are required to help out a schoolgirl choir.

Multiplayer gameplay was also briefly mentioned. In this game, there are two modes -- Vs. and Co-op -- and up to 4 players can participate in either one via DS Wireless link.

And lastly, the article also points towards a track list of 12 songs, the majority of which are recent J-Pop/J-Rock hits. To help you get an understanding of the kind of music that will be featured in this sequel, we've provided video links to videos and live performances of these songs (when applicable). Enjoy!
Kibun Jojo (mihimaru GT)
Julia ni Yuushin (Checkers)
Go my way (Hitomi Yaida)
BANG! BANG! Vacance (SMAP)
Rirura Riruha (Kaela Kimura)
VISTA (GOING UNDER GROUND)
Believe (artist unknown*)
Shonen Heart (HOME MADE Kazoku)
Bambina (Hotei Tomoyasu)
POP STAR (Ken Hirai)
Okuru Kotoba (FLOW)
*Famitsu.com hasn't specified which artist this is, and the fact that there are a ton of Japanese artists who have done songs called Believe doesn't help things much. However, there is the remote possibility that the artist is Cher, which would give Japanese gamers the first taste of one of the songs previously available for Elite Beat Agents.
