Warhawk to see release on both PlayStation Network and Blu-ray

Although previously assumed to be download only, Sony has announced that the upcoming game Warhawk will be available for purchase in multiple formats.

First, Warhawk is assumed to be a Blu-ray game, then at GDC, Sony tells us that it'll be download only. But which is it for certain?

Both, says Sony.

In a quickie report from 1UP, representatives from Sony have stated that their upcoming multiplayer fragfest will be distributed in both retail stores and in a downloadable format via the PlayStation Network. Sony has made similar announcement regarding the distribution plans for their much-awaited title Little Big Planet, which will also be available in both downloadable and disc form.

However, Sony has not yet clarified whether or not there will be a difference between both versions. Could the downloadable version start off as a cheaper, bare bones game, requiring a separate download for each additional option, vehicle, or add-on? Nobody knows for sure now, but we'll inform you as soon as we get the word.
