Although the fact that rock-n-rollers are doing their bit for charity may not come as a surprise, this time, the gaming industry has decided to get in on the act and offer their support as well. Together, they have created 30 custom PS2 Guitar Hero II controllers that are currently being auctioned off on eBay, with the proceeds going to MusiCare, a charity that supports musicians in times of personal, medical, or financial need.
Activision and Red Bull have teamed up and corralled the likes of My Chemical Romance, The Spill Canvas and Nickelback to design exclusive Guitar Hero II guitars. Variations range from simple signed guitars to some bizarre efforts, including one guitar designed by skateboarding veteran Tony Hawk that features a skateboard in place of a guitar neck. However, the majority of them sport fancy new paint jobs with each entry being completely unique, a reflection of each creator's idea.
Bidding prices start at $100 for each controller, and auctions will run until the 13th of April. Any gamers interested in helping this charity should head over to the list on eBay and peruse the varied selection.
