To promote its support for family fun, Activision is making Shrek the Third available to you for free as a downloadable PC demo. Based on the upcoming movie of the same name, Shrek the Third is the latest in a series of Shrek video game adventures for multiple game systems.
May will see Shrek in all-out blitz mode. The full PC game as well as versions for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, DS, and PSP will be available in stores in the weeks prior to the movie's May 18 release.
Shrek the Third follows the travails of the heroes from the animated series - Shrek, the ogre; his wife, Fiona; and Donkey, his comic sidekick - as they attempt to thwart the machinations of the evil Prince Charming who is trying to usurp the throne of the kingdom of Far Far Away. As you might guess humorous interpretations and allusions to classic fairy tales abound in this E-rated adventure.
In addition to offering myriad gameplay activities, the demo offers a preview to the film and players who beat the demo earn a special code for a secret reward. This is a great way for your kids to try out the game, and for you to find out if Shrek the Third is entertainment you'd like to have at home.
