Free Gears of War update on the way

Epic announces a new update for Gears of War for the near future, including a new multiplayer mode, which will be available for download free of charge.

Gears of War, one of the Xbox 360's more popular games to date, will be receiving a new update in the near future, as Epic Games' vice president Mark Rein recently explained on the official Gears of War forums. The update, which will be available free of cost, is presently being certified, and will fix "a whole bunch of glitches", offer 720p for VGA users running at 1280x1024, and contain a brand new multiplayer game mode called Annex.

"Some folks who got to play it a few weeks ago said they think it is our best multiplayer gametype yet," says Rein on the new multiplayer mode, "but I'll leave it for you fans to decide what you think for yourself when it shows up soon on Xbox Live."
