According to a press release today from Oslo-based Opera Software, the release date for the final version of the Wii's internet browser, otherwise known as the Internet Channel, has been delayed from late March to an undetermined date in April.

Powered by Opera's internet browsing technology, the Wii Internet Channel promises to be "the ultimate Web surfing experience on the Wii console", according to the release.

Although a beta version of the browser is currently available free of charge, the final version will be downloadable for the price of 500 Wii Points.

As we had reported previously, a DS version of the browser will become available in the American market on June 4th of this year.
