Multiplayer Mario Galaxy?

Rumours of a multi-player mode in the upcoming Mario Galaxy abound, but Nintendo are keeping their lips sealed on the subject.

It seems Nintendo may have a surprise up their sleeves with the upcoming Wii release of Super Mario Galaxy, even though it wasn't shown in the recently released trailer or mentioned at all by Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of the series) at the most recent GDC.

Cubed3 reports the Super Mario Brothers page on the Wii software website hints that one undisclosed feature of the game could be a two-player system.

The evidence for this can be found in orange text on the page linked: "Players: 1-2." Still speculation, the inclusion of Luigi into the game might not even occur. If it did, it would be the first three-dimensional Mario title to allow a second person to play as Luigi.

There's also the possibility that it will be a mini-game, but we'll have to wait until Nintendo deals more information about the game, whose release date is still to be confirmed.
