Final Fantasy III dated for Europe

Square Enix set a release date for the DS remake of Final Fantasy III on European shores.

Europeans will finally get their first taste of Final Fantasy III on the DS in soon, as Square Enix has announced that the game will release in Europe on May 4. The DS remake of the third Final Fantasy game. which introduced moogles, summons and other staples of the Final Fantasy series, has already made waves in Japan and North America.

To take advantage of the DS's interface the game has been modified from its original NES version and has gone through significant changes to "showcase the power of the hardware" and "...no compromise...made in order to create an adventure of this magnitude...". This came from John Yamamoto, president and CEO of SE as he was promoting the game for the Nintendo handheld.

With over 1.4 million copies already in the homes of Japan and North America, Yamamoto said "...we are sure that Final Fantasy III will be a big success in Europe too."
