Sam & Max: Hit the Retail

Sam & Max will soon be seeing their return to shop shelves, in boxed collections of their recent episodic games.

Back in 1993, LucasArts released the wildly acclaimed Sam & Max: Hit the Road, a point-and-click adventure game remembered for its wacky sense of humour and its insane leads, freelance police duo Sam & Max.
Recently, Sam & Max saw their return to the gaming world thanks to Telltale Games, who took the unique decision of releasing episodic games based on the comedic duo, which could only be bought downloaded off the internet. Thanks to recent agreements made with publishers The Adventure Company and The JoWood Group though, the first "season" of the episodic Sam & Max games will see themselves hitting store shelves worldwide this August.
The first four "episodes" in the planned six-episode season have already seen release through GameTap and Telltale Game's website. Episode 5, 'Reality 2.0', is expected to see release next month.
