Halo Wars reaches a "milestone"

Ensemble Studios recently held an exclusive playtest of Halo Wars for the Xbox 360, to a resounding success.

Developers at Microsoft's Ensemble Studios claim that their much-awaited RTS game Halo Wars has recently reached a "milestone", which one of the studio's resident bloggers describes as "a date at which game developers are to have a specific list of features and art implemented and working".

According to the development team, the features and art are working just fine. Last week, a group of Microsoft Games Studio executives, headed by MGS Corporate Vice President Shane Kim, were on hand to test the game out at its current stage. The developers were confident in the quality of their game build, but of particular pride to the blogger was a "wicked" user interface, created by artist Andy Gotcher and programmer Billy Khan.

The blogger claims, however, that the game is still a long way from completion, and the game's website still has yet to issue even a preliminary release date.
