Phil Harrison leaks out the plan for Resistance's additional content and talks about how Resistance stacks up graphically with Gears of War.

In part 1 of a DICE Summit interview with N'Gai Croal, Sony's Phil Harrison revealed his company's intent to provide new, downloadable content for Resistance: Fall of Man:
"I don't think we've gone into detail on the schedule, but we have some really, really cool things that will be extending the story, extending the locations, some brand new content, starting in April. So if that works well and is well-received by the audience, then that will keep the engagement with game going between now and should there be a sequel at some point in the future."
The interview also covered other topics -- most notably, the similarities between the PS3's Resistance and Gears of War for the Xbox 360. Croal observed that, while Gears of War displayed a graphical quality that more consistently exemplified the power of hi-definition, Resistance's graphics too often ebbed between high and low. In response, Harrison claimed that Gears of War's "pastiche super-hero comic book" style lent itself to more consistent graphical representation. Resistance, on the other hand:
"... is attempting to have almost a historical reenactment. The story is supposed to be more gritty, a bit more realistic, and it's harder to maintain that consistency throughout a game. Then layer on top of the complexities of launching a game on a hard date with a system, and yadda, yadda, yadda."
The interview was part 1 of a 4-part series. Croal intends to publish the remaining three parts of the interview on his industry blog at a later date.
