16 Reasons Why We Love Total War

Over the last six years, the Total War series has blown strategy/war gamers away with a unique blend of highly tactical real-time battles and deep economic/political strategy elements.

The series was the first tactical war game to allow the player to control very large 3D-based armies without serious performance issues (well, assuming you had a decent PC). This was such a feat that the History Channel's Decisive Battles TV show used the Total War engine to recreate famous battles in history.

The three games in the series - Shogun: Total War, Medieval: Total War, and Rome: Total War have all received excellent review marks.

In a few weeks, Sega will be releasing Medieval 2: Total War. In honor of the game's stupendous run, we decided to highlight some great moments from the series' history.

Enjoy!
