Song: While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Artist: The Beatles

If Apple (and every other online music download service) can't get the rights to the Fab Four's digital catalog, you can bet Guitar Hero II won't have the slightest chance to host a Beatles song.

But if it were in the realm of possibility, the easy choice would be While My Guitar Gently Weeps from side one of the White Album. Written by George Harrison, the song features Eric Clapton whining lead guitar on a five minute track that hoisted Harrison's recognition as a composer up a few notches (he would later solidify with Something and Here Comes the Sun off Abbey Road).

It's a shame, really, because there are so many great Beatles cover bands out there that would have been an easy fit for GHII.

Runner-up Beatles song: And Your Bird Can Sing

Song: November Rain
Artist: Guns N' Roses

This nine-minute guitar rock marathon seems to go on forever, and that's probably the reason why GHII developer Harmonix decided to go with Sweet Child O' Mine from GNR instead. And while the latter is the obvious choice, we can't help but think the grass is greener, though our fingers may thank us for not having to plow through the daunting Slash solos in November Rain.

Or for even greater pain, live versions of November Rain have been rumored to hit over 15 minutes. Wicked

Song: Paranoid Android
Artist: Radiohead

Like The Beatles, Radiohead's music catalogue is hard to find online, so getting the UK's biggest band to sign onto a PlayStation 2 soundtrack would be harder than pulling teeth.

But just think of it -- the best track off what is arguably the best album of the last decade would make for a more than killer GHII cut. With changing tempos and shifting time signatures, not to mention a multitude of savage Johnny Greenwood licks, we could see the expert version of Paranoid Android being a pleasurable real pain in the rear.
