Gravity Flipping: Certain rooms within the game will contain glowing blue pads that control the center of gravity. Firing upon them will switch the gravity of the entire room. If you're confused about where to go, look around because there is probably a gravity pad hiding somewhere nearby.
Wall Walking: The well lit strips indicate that you can walk on walls or even the ceiling. Be aware of controls panels as Hunters will sometimes turn of the walkway while you're on it.
Death Walking: When you die in the real world you are taken to the land of the damned where you must replenish your health and spirit. Shoot red souls to receive health and blue souls to regenerate your spirit energy. After a period of time you will be sucked back into the real world, fight the pull and keep shooting souls.
Spirit Mode: You can leave your physical form behind and go beyond force fields or just to scout ahead. When in Spirit Mode, your body will remain where you left it. If you are shot, you will return to the physical. Spirit Mode is used to complete most of the games puzzles; look for radiant sun symbols in the walls as they often indicate somewhere only your spirit can take you.
Portals: Portals are the means of transportation around the alien Sphere. They can be seen through, jumped through, and even fired into with all weapons to eliminate anything on the other side. But be careful and always look before you leap.

The purple spores on the ground give small portions of health while the spider-eyed wall creatures will give you large amounts.
The ammunition lockers are dynamic dispensers in the fact that if you are low on a specific weapons ammo, the locker is more likely to give you more of that weapons ammo rather than something you don't need.
Have Talon decipher control panels so you're aware of enabled or disabled walkways, force fields, and alarms.
Assign your favorite weapons to the directional pad; it's used just like a car stereo. Equip the weapon you want, and then hold down the directional pad to assign.
Collecting spirits from fallen enemies will refill your spirit energy. In physical form, run over them to collect or enter Spirit Mode and they will come to you.
