Despite its massive arsenal this map is fairly small and well suited for one on one and FFA games. Both the BFG10K and the Quad are tucked away well enough that their dominance isn?t as essential for controlling the map as much as shear skill. The Quad is located in the basement; you?ll find the spawn point in the middle of the bridge with death pendulums. This area isn?t difficult to traverse despite its intimidating appearance. The Battle suit spawns outside in front of lava pit. The Mega Health is in a room toward the back of the level, you?ll see a pair of bounce pads on the floor, with a little air control you should be able to spring up and score. The Personal Teleporter is on a ledge right before the bridge leading to the Quad, it can be an effective means to jump into some heat with the Quad in hand. The Heavy Armor and the BFG10K are essentially in the same spot, Rocket Jump from the platform in the lava pit on top of the airborne bounce pad, if your spacing is perfect you?ll score both. Best scenario is to first grab the Battle Suit, the left side of the lava pit has a small room with three packs of BFG ammo, grab the ammo and bolt out, then head back to the bounce pad in front of the platform, Rocket Jump up, and you?ll then bounce onto the pad, once you?re on the pad repeat the sets above and you?ll score everything with a ton of BFG ammo and zero self inflicted damage. There are three units of Armor on this map, one near the upper platform over looking the lava pit, another at the top of the staircase leading to the lower levels, and the final one on the platform right next to the lava pit. Realistically you can score all three fairly quick, just start from the upper levels and work your way down. The Rocket Launcher is fairly centralized; you?ll spot it easily in the main area. The Railgun is out on the platform in the lava pit. Railgun ammo is abundant here, however, the map itself is rather tight so you may want to lean on the Rocket Launcher. Across from the Armor on the upper level you see the Grenade Launcher, since you pick it up on an elevated level you can lob grenades into high traffic areas easily. The Plasma Gun is below the Armor leading into the basement areas. There are two passages leading into the basement area, one has the Plasma Gun and the Armor while the other has the Shotgun and some BFG ammo.
Stripe, Razor, and Keel join you for the battle here. The bots lack the skill to Rocket Jump to the angled bounce pad that leads to the BFG10K and the Heavy Armor; thus you should be able to consistently score these as long as you first grab the Rocket Launcher. The bots will flock to the Quad and the Battle Suit, however reliance on the BFG10K should be enough to take them even on the hardest settings.
The skill level of the human opponents your up against will determine the places you?re likely to engage them. There are players out there that cannot Rocket Jump, you?ll find them packed in the base of the main area slugging it out with the Rocket Launcher. You?ll know you?re up against a skilled player when they bear The BFG10K, keep in mind that if they pursue the BFG10K they cannot sit on top of the Quad, if you are having trouble controlling one do your utmost to pursue the other. Despite its presence here, the Railgun isn?t particularly suited for this map, stick to the Rocket Launcher, Shotgun, and the BFG10K for the best results.
