IntroFor players new to the Power Stone universe, Power Stone 2 is nothing shy of pure insanity and mayhem. Even Power Stone veterans will find out quickly that this sequel boosts the intensity of arena combat to a new level of madness. If you want to be good at Power Stone 2, the first thing you should understand is that it is not a fighting game, but rather a brawling game. Reflexes, or any measure of traditional fighting game skill will be absolutely useless in your endeavor to win in Power Stone 2. A sharp mind and a solid focus on terrain elements are what it will take to bring the gold home. Everything you need to win is within the level and the importance of dominating these items and terrain elements exceeds the once sought after Power Stones.
Mastering Terrain
You should take some time in the one player game to thoroughly explore each of the levels, and once you unlock new levels, take a break to learn them inside and out. Many of the Power Stone 2 levels are in a gradual state of flux, with moving platforms and other elements so keep your eyes sharp and get ready to jump as the level demands. When you anticipate and the level changes, it's wise to grab any opponent you can get your hands on and then chuck them into chaos!
Once you're on the elevator chuck your opponent off and hoard the items!
While you're running down the track grab your opponent and throw them into the boulder!
On top of sporadic level changes you also need to know the built-in weapons of each level if you want to dominate. For example some levels have turrets to command, vehicles to commandeer, walls that spring out, poles to swing on, and even birds to fly with!
Jump in one of these bad boys and you're pretty much set to dominate the level!

Power Stones
In the original Power Stone the strategy of hoarding Power Stones overruled all other concerns. Once you gathered all three you became an invincible spastic machine of doom that no opponent could escape. Seeing the imbalance in this, Capcom has toned down the strength of these gems considerably. Stone hoarding is still a powerful tactic, but the characters are vulnerable during their initial charge. Thus, when you see a charge, bombard them with anything you can lay your hands on!
When you see a charge, react quickly, and slam them out of their super.
If you are facing a powered-up opponent, just stay on your toes, and you should be able to evade anything they can throw out, continue to evade until they exhaust their energy or run out of time.
Defense aside, you should remember that the Power Stones are still the strongest overall attack in the game and thus it is still wise to pursue the stones. Just keep in mind that level based weapons, items, and basic attacks are now balanced with the power of the stones so stone hoarding is not as effective a tactic.
When you want to unload a super double, jump and then release to stay safe.
Items
With each level a variety of items may drop from the ceiling, spring up from the earth, or, most commonly, appear in chests. Some Items are self-activated, but most will take over your primary attack functions. Since turrets and other basic level-based weapons tend to have limited range and poor versatility, you should use this to your advantage and use basic items against your opponent.
If you use a sword from the air you can dive at a manned turret and do some serious damage!
In general, gun type weapons offer a lot of power, but since they tend to make you stationary or limited in your range of motion, they are not a wise choice against a Power-Stoned opponent. Trap types, like bombs or bear traps, are handy when the levels are collapsing and you want to force your opponent into a specific area of the level to (hopefully) have them fall off the level. Boxes, boulders or other similar items leave your range of motion unhampered, however, they are typically a one shot deal. Keep this in mind and aim carefully.
Final Note
Remember that Power Stone 2 is more of a party game than a true fighting game. Check your attitude at the door and bring in a smile and the desire to have a good time to get the most mileage out of this awesome game.
