Dead Head will cast Diminish right from the opening round making all Elemental attacks weaker. You can counter this by casting Magnify but the best option is to work with it, use Turn White on your party and rain physical attacks down on him casting White Elements as often as possible. Dead Head will keep a steady stream of Black Elements out there making it impossible to turn the field completely White.
