Sonic & Knuckles

Yes, it's "lock-on technology." Sonic & Knuckles could be fastened to Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, and it allowed you to play as Knuckles and access hidden areas in each title.
Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble

I always liked the sonic adventure games more than the 2d one, but I seem to be the only one
