Each character has a specific mood they are in that is represented by the icon used for their picture. These conditions are:
Stands around and will not go out of their way to dig for the ball. Spikes
are usually weaker and they are more likely to hit a ball into the net.
They won?t make spectacular play, but by no means will they just roll over.
They make great spikes and will cover a lot more ground to dig for balls.
Their conditions can change depending on how much they are winning, gifts they are given, time of day, and their relationship to who they are playing.
