NCAA Basketball Blowout 2003

Five college basketball games are coming out in the space of a few days this week. GamePro's got all the reviews right here.

Ah, college basketball! The raw talent! The sheer excitement! The strategic science of the game! The cold, drafty arenas! The drunken cheering sections! The chair throwing! The ditzy cheerleader who picks a fight with the mascot! The thrill of making the Sweet Sixteen! The sinking feeling you get when ESPN reports that somebody's agent gave the starting five matching Ferraris!

Yes, the NBA games of 2003 have all come out, and now it's time for their NCAA little brothers to make their appearance. College basketball is a genre that's traditionally been dominated by EA's March Madness series by default, but with Sega Sports joining the fray, this year has more competition than this generation's ever experienced. Five titles are coming out across all three consoles, all right next to each other, and?unless you don't own a PS2?the choice has never been more befuddling.

But, once again, your friends at GamePro have come through. Tokyo Drifter has spent many a night playing all of this year's NCAA basketball games, drinking enough green tea to fill a bathtub in the process, and he's come up with full reviews on every title for us today. If you're dying to find out what's up with your favorite series, prepare to be enlightened.

Sega Sports

EA Sports

  • NCAA March Madness 2003 (PlayStation 2)
"The arcade emphasis found in NBA Live 2003 has been toned down a notch..."

989 Sports

  • NCAA Final Four 2003 (PlayStation 2)
"989 definitely deserves some respect for putting together a game that?s completely different from its NBA sibling..."

"Wha? GamePro.com reviewed all the NCAA games in one day? Man,
you gotta be kidding me!"
