Top 10 Games You Need for PlayStation 3

Don't get down in the dumps about game delays. Dollar for dollar, these terrific titles are still on shelves and they're the ones that will stay with your library for a long, long time. If you're still looking around for a good PS3 game to keep you happy, here's our picks for the RECENT best of Sony's next-gen beast.

It's not much longer until the Holiday season, and gamers everywhere are still waiting for their favorite titles. Everyone and their mother is in hibernation for the winter, including top-tier titles like Splinter Cell: Conviction, BioShock 2 and Bayonetta. I'm still waiting for some news on the next Ghost Recon myself.

BUT! There's lots of stuff of there to play. Have you beaten all these games? Did you snag every secret, beat the hardest difficulty, and milked every single Trophy?

Let's give the PSTriple a whirl this time, and highlight the current top 10 titles of the console. If you haven't played them yet (or just happen to be picking up a brand-new PlayStation 3 Slim), then head to the store or Internet and sit a spell with these guys. I guarantee you won't be running back to GameStop anytime soon.

#10: Fat Princess

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Man, I remember the controversy Fat Princess caused. If I remember correctly, this fat bint had her knickers in a knot about the title of the game, and people started photoshopping her ugly face into the game. Anyway, I like Fat Princess, and most people don't give it a fair shake, being a downloadable title and whatnot. By far, one of the best parts of the game is the announcer and his charming British accent. Playing around with Fat Princess is a blast, it's hilarious, and it's worth the online coinage. Hey, big princesses need love, too.

#9: Wolfenstein

GamePro's Review: 4 out of 5 Stars

Wolfenstein is a franchise older than most of the people reading this sentence, so it's good to see the tradition of Nazi-stomping hasn't lost its step. It's scientifically proven that any game improves 110 percent when gamers get the chance to curbstomp a quadruple mini-gunned Hitler, although he's not as badass as good old Robo-Hilter (as seen in our recent Patriots Day write-up). We recommend playing this game after a night of fine wine and a late night viewing of Inglourious Basterds. When it comes to first-person shooters on the PS3, this is as good as it's gotten for the Sony crowd in the last few months.

#8: WET

GamePro's Review: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Hey, I don't care if it's "Kill Bill the Game", it's still worth playing. Girls with guns is one thing, but girls with guns and swords is muuuuuch better (although, admittedly, you can supposedly kill a shark in Tomb Raider: Underworld). Just don't let the other review scores out there scare you off from at least renting it. WET is just one of those mindlessly fun titles that's meant for you to turn your brain off and enjoy the copious amounts of shattering glass and streaming blood geysers.

#7: The Beatles: Rock Band

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Just like in real life, performing classic songs from The Beatles: Rock Band is a groovy good time. As long as you're not the drummer. In fact, that was the main reason we knocked it down a few pegs on the list. Playing guitar and bass sounds as good as the original LPs, but the drumming is sadly as restrictive as a tight, form-crushing 1970s-style brassiere. Still, if you like classic rock, or just want an excuse to get that spiffy new Fender guitar you've been wanting, you can't go wrong with The Beatles: Rock Band. Even if you do have to be Ringo once in a while.

#6: Need for Speed SHIFT

GamePro's Review: 4 out of 5 Stars

Driving a car in real life is dangerous. Plus, there's always a bunch of stuff in the road that tends to really mess up the paint on your ride of choice, like old ladies and mailboxes. Luckily, we've got games like Need For Speed SHIFT, where you can crank the speedometer to 110 MPH with few consequences. Our own Travis Moses had a lot of good things to say about the cockpit camera, and SHIFT is overall a much better ride than the last Need For Speed. Racing fans, you should buckle into this one.
