10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

If you own the Xbox 360, you should own these games. Dollar for dollar, these titles are more than worth the price, and you probably won't be taking them back to trade in. They're not the Top 10 of All Time, but they're the Top 10 of NOW.

These new titles may not dethrone BioShock or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as the best Xbox 360 games in history, but take our word for it: if you own the console, these are the 10 games that you should be playing right now. No, not now: NOW-now. Okay, maybe it's just an excuse to put Batman: Arkham Asylum in a list of awesome Xbox 360 games. What can we say? We love Batman, especially Reviews Co-Editor Will Herring, who pretty much threatened bodily harm to anyone that came between him and his (new) favorite game.

#10: GTA IV: The Lost and Damned

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

Of course, we can't have any kind of ultimate Xbox 360 list without Grand Theft Auto IV. Pretty much everyone's played it, but not every gamer has indulged in the DLC content, and that's a damn shame. The long and short of The Lost and Damned is that you join a biker gang appropriately called "The Lost" and cause some mayhem on the other leather-wearing dudes in Liberty City. It's like a side story to the general GTA IV plot, but there are lots of new weapons, plenty of mini-games and muuuuuch better music. Any of you guys fans of Cannibal Corpse, Bathory, or Sepultra?

#9: Fallout 3: Broken Steel/Point Lookout

GamePro's Review: N/A

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

Everyone at GamePro plays Fallout 3. Our site developers haven't stopped playing the games since it came out, and it's got DLC that literally takes the extra money out of your wallet. Seriously, it's not very often that we have to make pages on GamePro's website for DLC content, but we enjoy doing it for games like Fallout, Gears of War 2 and Halo 3. Don't be skeptical, the amount of content in Broken Steel and Point Lookout is HUGE. Bethesda could almost package them into a new game and charge $60 for it.

#8: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

OK, we have to assume that there's someone reading this list who doesn't own Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on PlayStation 2, Xbox, or Dreamcast. If that's you and you own an Xbox 360, it's your civic duty to buy Marvel vs. Capcom 2 if you're a fighting fan. The HD graphics really make the visuals pop, and for 1200 MS points, it's not a bad deal. Especially when GameStop charges a whopping $79.99 for a copy of the game. Yeah, A USED COPY.

#7: Resident Evil 5

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

Resident Evil 5, if you haven't picked it up yet, is very cathartic. Killing hordes and hordes of zombies (or infected whatchamacallits) is actually pretty calming for the nerves. It may not be scary in the "crapping your pants involuntarily" sense, but the rush of tension you can feel when lobbing grenades at zombie riding motorcycles is something that other games haven't really been able to reproduce. Well, expect maybe Gears of War 2, which uses gore and blood the way Michael Bay uses explosions. And that definitely isn't a bad thing.

#6: Fight Night Round 4

GamePro's Review: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

10 New Games You Need for Xbox 360

When we were writing our UFC 2009 Undisputed vs. Fight Night Round 4 article, I was actually surprised at how close the ending tally got. Really, I expected UFC to completely dominate the article, but Fight Night Round 4 is no lightweight. Heck, if UFC used the same training system as FNR4, like the minigames, statistic calculations, and fight booking, it would probably have sold 3 million copies in one month instead of three. Either way, Fight Night Round 4 is awesomely detailed and worth picking up. I'm still blown away by the fact that you can edit the FABRIC on your boxer's ring shorts.

Nice try on the ambiguous write-up on UFC McKinley. It almost makes it sound like you were the one who won and I was the one who threw a fit. But aside from one match where you beat me when I was playing a character you chose for me, I am undefeated against you.

Side control.

You forgot to mention that it's only a great list if you like fighting games. I hate fighting games, so besides Batman and Shadow Complex and the Fallout DLC the rest stay on the store shelves.

roger21st

the list is okay! gta is the most overrated game ever ! i got sucked into it ,sure it has its moments but i will never pay money for another gta title ever,i played itfor about 20 hours and its just gets boring !!!they probably paid them to make this list totry to boost up sales

Resident Evil 5 has "zombie riding motorcycles"? I think there's something wrong there, cause I never saw those. Though that does conjure up a pretty awesome picture.

How I wish Shadow Complex was on the PS3... Every system has their exclusive goodness, and that's one game that has me crying myself to sleep at night because I want to play it so badly.

numba1gamer

Shadow complex is already going down the path of braid and castle crashers. It's very talked about and is always getting good reviews. It will end up on the ps3 just like braid and castle crashers.

In Regards to the message made by "The End" yes re5 does have zombies on motorcycles. Its level 2-2 or 2-3 savannah where your on the back of the convoy truck or whatever and you and sheva have the turret guns and they throw dynamite and what not at you. The zombies mentioned are like people under the virus' influence but called zombies nonetheless just so you know, fun ass level too!

TheEnd

what i meant was that the way he spelt it it read as if the motorcycles were riding the zombies. i view that level as kind of the point where the game goes from awesome to good.
