The 7 Best Second Quests

4- Resident Evil 2's B Scenarios

The 7 Best Second Quests

The second and arguably the most terrifying entry in Capcom's longstanding zombie slaughtering horror series had one of the most memorable incarnations of the second quest, or "B Scenario" as Resident Evil 2 called it, for one giant reason: it allowed you to experience the game the second time through from the perspective of a new character. In the B Game, you play as either Leon or Claire depending on who you played through RE2 with the first time. In addition to your character being different during the second quest, hidden areas, the routes you take, as well as the choices you made the first time impacting the B Game, are all ways Resident Evil 2 made things feel fresh again during its second quest.

3- Dead Rising's Overtime Mode

The 7 Best Second Quests

One of the central features of Dead Rising was that you were always on the clock--particularly the 72-hour countdown before your helicopter escort returned to pick you up from the zombie-infested Williamette Mall. With the clock constantly ticking, most assumed that once you uncovered the mystery and returned to the pickup point, that your ordeal would be done. They were dead wrong. With the pickup not going as planned, finding an alternate method of escape and curing the zombie disease in time became the central focus of the game's Overtime Mode. Oh, and now the mall is packed with rifle-toting SWAT Teams hunting for you. Good luck!

2- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's Flipped Castle

The 7 Best Second Quests

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's take on the traditional second quest may sound second-rate, but as anyone who has unlocked the inverted castle at the end of the game will tell you, it transforms the way Castlevania: SotN plays so drastically that it feels like you're playing an entirely new game. Symphony of the Night's world not only becomes literally turned upside down once you earn the secret second quest. Enemies, bosses, and even the color scheme of environments are all changed in the game that many hail as the greatest Castlevania game ever.

1- The Legend of Zelda's Second Quest

The 7 Best Second Quests

Exploring the eight dungeons and the expansive overworld of the original Legend of Zelda should be enough to satisfy the most adventurous of gamers. When it comes to Nintendo's flagship role-playing series, though, the company goes above and beyond what gamers expect. The new, remixed adventure unlocked after defeating Gannon the first time takes the original map and switches things up, moving dungeons and altering their floor plans. Once you take in the depth and added enjoyment of this added adventure, it's easy to see why the term "Second Quest" is synonymous with the new mode.

I like these, as well as games with a "New Game +" option where you can play through it again with all your awesome gear and abilities.

The Resident Evil 2 second quests were awesome and added so much to the story. Plus they had better bosses.

Giant Clank

I think that any of the Oblivion dark brotherhood quests should be on here.

sacchi

Kingdom Hearts 1.5, the one with the card games. You could play as Riku in the second quest, and it expanded the story a lot. For me, that's worth a mention :P

Without these "2nd quest""Alternate Quests" there would not be GOD MODE nor TITAN MODE for Kratos addicts out there to enjoy,no bones Mercenary mode for RE4 or anything like that!!

Minigames and expansions aren't second quests.

Yea RE2 is one of the high points of the RE series.

one of my favorite quest was in tecmo's deception, where you built traps to stop people from entering your castle, though I don't know if thats a quest or not but it sure the hell was fun to me.

though I guess if it isnt a quest I should name one.

Lufia 2 where you go into the deep dungeon to find all the pieces of armor and fight the big slime at the end.
