Join GamePro as we count down the 17 coolest caps in gaming that we may never get out of our heads.
Sometimes, it's to spruce up a drably-designed character. On other occasions, it's a central part of the gameplay experience. And then there's occasions where developers didn't want to render hair just to have everyone comment on how fake it looks. Whatever the case, many famous game characters have donned equally famous headwear. Here's our 17 Most Memorable Video Game Hats.
17- Henry Hatsworth from Henry Hatsworth
Hat: Bowler
While this monocle-wearing British bloke might cause a few uninformed gamers to scratch their heads and ask "Henry who?" rest assured that in a month or two, after the Hatsworth-craze has swept America, we all will be wearing the bowler hat and saying "G'day Guv'nor."
16- Zack from Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure
Hat: Bicorn
Pirates knew that it was nearly impossible to wear a bicorn hat and still retain any level of respect amongst their peers or their crew. That was unless they attached a giant skull to it and then frequently exclaimed, "Arrrrrrg!" And as Zack demonstrates, the larger the skull the better.
15- Professor Layton from Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Hat: Top Hat
While Professor Layton certainly makes wearing a top hat look good, for a modern Top Hat enthusiast certain precautions need to be taken before applying said hat. First, find a time machine. Second, travel back to the 1800's. Third, place hat on head and enjoy wearing a ridiculous hat while not being unbearably mocked.
14- Amigo from Samba de Amigo
Hat: Sombrero
We all know that monkeys (such as Amigo) love wearing sombreros. But what we all need to remember before we go out and blow $80.00 to look like our favorite primate, is that monkeys (such as Amigo) also love to throw their own stool, and that is not an admirable trait.
13- Nights from Nights: Journey Into Dreams
Hat: Cap 'n' Bells
If you wear a cap 'n' bells that means you're funny, and nothing is more hilarious than a mute jester. But as the androgynous funny-man known as Nights can tell you (through sign language and facial expressions), there are times when not everyone will get your jokes. That's because your jokes are only understood by the hardcore fans, and you have terrible controls. (Note: We're talking about the Wii version, hardcore fans. Sega Saturn ftw.

Yeah, I was wondering if the Black mage hat was going to get in there...you usually can't have a list without something Final Fantasy related in there.

Most useless article I've ever seen... but I looked at all pages anyway hahahaha. Kung Lao's hat is SO the best... It's the only one you can acutally use... as a weapon too!
