Street Fighter IV Strategy Guide - All Moves, Combos, Tips, and Secrets for SFIV

Mixed Martial Artists

Each one of these undercard fighters bounced around the Street Fighter canon before resurfacing again in SFIV, but that doesn't make them any less dangerous.

Command Key:

  • [F] - Forward
  • [B] - Back
  • [U] - Up
  • [D] - Down
  • [DF] - Down Forward
  • [DB] - Down Backward
  • [360] - Full Circle
  • Dan: Deluded Dojo Dropout

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

Dan packs a lot of stopping power for an overzealous Ryu & Ken wannabe, so don't underestimate the underdog strength of the so-called Saikyo Master!

    Special Moves
  • Gadoken: Motion [D] [DF] [F] + Punch
  • Koryuken: Motion [F] [D] [DF] + Punch
  • Dankukyaku: Motion [D] [DB] [B] + Kick
  • Dankukyaku: Motion [D] [DB] [B] + Kick (Mid-Air)

  • Super Combo!
  • Hissho Buraiken: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch
  • Legendary Taunt: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Fierce & Roundhouse

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Shisso Buraiken: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. Dan's Kuchu Dankukyaku is annoyingly hard to predict, especially since crafty players can use it to fake out a jumping counter while soaring over fireballs and charging attacks.

    2. While the Koryuken is a mere shadow of Ken and Ryu's Dragon Punch, it's still a highly effective tool for counters and breaking through Focus Attacks with EX power.

    3. By far, Dan's Shisso Buraiken is his most dangerous attack -- it's guaranteed to hit for massive damage if you can catch opponents off guard (and it can also pass through fireballs!).

    Fei Long: The Flying Dragon

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

After being out of action since a brief stint in Street Fighter Alpha 3, Fei Long's finally rejoined the World Warriors with some ridiculously damaging moves!

    Special Moves
  • Rekkaken: Motion [D] [DF] [F] + Punch
  • Shienkyaku: Motion [B] [D] [DB] + Kick
  • Rekkukyaku: Motion [B] [DB] [D] [DF] [F] [U] + Kick
  • Tenshin: Motion [F] [DF] [D] [DB] [B] + Kick

  • Super Combo!
  • Rekkashinken: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Rekkashingeki: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. Fei Long's Focus Attack is a true beast -- not only is it blindingly quick on the button, but it also has extraordinary range to boot!

    2. The Rekkaken can be done three times in sequence, but if the move is blocked, try canceling into a Rekkukyaku to avoid getting thrown or countered.

    3. Also, make sure to use EX power for your Flame Kick when you can land a solid attack, since it'll net a solid three-hit combo and finish with a guaranteed knockdown!

    Gen: Retired Ex-Assassin

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

Chun Li's old mentor is much more than meets the eye, thanks to a deceptive fighting style and lighting quick moves that will leave young whippersnappers crying to their mothers.

    Special Moves
  • Hyakureno: Tap Punch Repeatedly
  • Gekiro: Motion [B] [D] [DB] + Kick, Then Kick
  • Jyasen: Charge [B], Charge [F] + Punch
  • Oga: Charge [U], Charge [D] + Kick

  • Super Combo!
  • Zan'ei: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch
  • Jyakoha: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Kick

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Zetsuei: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch x 3
  • Ryukoha: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Kick x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. Gen's various fighting styles make his attacks somewhat unpredictable -- if you want learn to alternate freely between them, pay attention to the stances.

    2. Insane speed makes Gen's Hyakurenko just as dangerous as Chun Li's Lighting Kick -- plus, you can continue the move infinitely as long as you don't trade hits with an opponent!

    3. As if the Hyakurenko wasn't powerful enough, an EX charge will cause this move to easily shatter Focus Attacks, making it difficult for opponents to try and stun a flat-footed Gen.

    has anyone beat mckinley yet?
    I sure as hell haven't.

The top spot in the office often switches between Sui, one of GP's developers, and our art intern Will Chu. I'm still trying to beat TMoses and Mr. Shuman.
