Street Fighter IV Strategy Guide - All Moves, Combos, Tips, and Secrets for SFIV

World's Strongest Women

Meet the living definition of girl power -- if you know what's good for you, don't ever assume that these female fighters are just cute eye candy.

Command Key:

  • [F] - Forward
  • [B] - Back
  • [U] - Up
  • [D] - Down
  • [DF] - Down Forward
  • [DB] - Down Backward
  • [360] - Full Circle
  • Chun Li: Interpol Investigator

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

Chun-Li's Lightning Kick is even more powerful than it was in SFIII -- Use a charged Hyakureshukyaku to escape corner traps and rack up cheap combo damage!

    Special Moves
  • Hyakureshukyaku: Tap Kick Repeatedly
  • Kikoken: Charge [B], Motion [F] + Punch
  • Hazanshu: Motion [F] [DF] [D] [DB] [B] + Kick
  • Spinning Bird Kick: Charge [D], Motion [U] + Kick

  • Super Combo!
  • Senretsukyeku: Charge [B], Motion [F] [B] [F] + Kick

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Hokyokusen: Charge [B], Motion [F] [B] [F] + Kick x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. If you're stuck in the corner, use a charged volley of Lighting Kicks at the right time to really jack up your opponent!

    2. Chun Li's best cross-up is a Down-Forward Roundhouse -- it also arcs over fireballs!

    3. Racking up damage with Chun Li's Fierce Punch is a great way to throw opponents off balance, especially when you double tap the command for a quick two-hit combo.

    Rose: Soulful Fortuneteller

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

Beware that golden scarf -- Rose's Soul Power not only gives her access to fireballs, but she also has a ridiculous amount of ways to send projectiles right back at careless fighters.

    Special Moves
  • Soul Spark: Motion [B] [DB] [D] [DF] [F] + Punch
  • Soul Spiral: Motion [D] [DF] [F] + Kick
  • Soul Reflect: Motion [D] [DB] [B] + Punch
  • Soul Throw: Motion [F] [D] [DF] + Punch

  • Super Combo!
  • Aura Soul Spark: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Illusion Spark: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Punch x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. Using the Soul Reflect is nowhere near as easy as Rose's Alpha years, so make sure that your fireball counters are pinpoint perfect.

    2. Jumping attacks are like an open invitation to launch Rose's Illusion Spark -- it's hard to dodge and nearly impossible to block.

    3. Rose's Aura Soul Spark takes off a ton of damage, even when blocked, so don't always feel pressured to wait for a opening to use it.

    Cammy: Brutal British Bombshell

    Street Fighter IV Fighter's Guide

Cammy's small frame and versatile moveset is greatly geared towards surprising opponents with quick throws and low attacks, so don't be afraid to get in close with your enemies.

    Special Moves
  • Cannon Spike: Motion [F] [D] [DF] + Kick
  • Spiral Arrow: Motion [D] [DF] [F] + Kick
  • Quick Spin Knuckle: Motion [F] [DF] [D] [DB] [B] + Punch
  • Hooligan Combination: Motion [DB] [D] [DF] [F] [U] + Punch (Follow Up w/ Punch + Kick)
  • Cannon Strike: (Jump Forward) Motion [D] [DB] [B] + Kick

  • Super Combo!
  • Spin Drive Smasher: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Kick

  • Ultra Combo!
  • Gyro Dive Smasher: Motion [D] [DF] [F], [D] [DF] [F] + Kick x 3
  • ProTips!

    1. Cammy's Cannon Spike is the best way to counter high attacks -- use the Short version as much as possible, since the Roundhouse will leave her hanging in the air.

    2. The Spiral Arrow can instantly close large distances and becomes a useful counter when charged with EX power!

    3. Cammy's Air Throw is an often forgotten secret that can surprise opponents, so practice and snatch jumping fools like Vega and El Fuerte out of the air!

    has anyone beat mckinley yet?
    I sure as hell haven't.

The top spot in the office often switches between Sui, one of GP's developers, and our art intern Will Chu. I'm still trying to beat TMoses and Mr. Shuman.
