Swiss Army Knife Classic SD

The Swiss Army Knife was first invented in 1897 and it's still around today. Why? Because it's so damn useful. Chances are you've owned at least one in your lifetime; we have one on our keychain right now. They're incredibly handy and useful and they make great last minute gifts. The company that manufacturers them, Victorinox, has a ton of models but we like the Classic SD; it has all the usual tools and it's less than $20 bucks. So give the budding MacGuyver in your life one of these bad boys; they just might save your life with it one day.

Rubik's Cube

Sometimes, you just have to keep it old school and nothing says old school fun like a Rubiks Cube. These puzzle boxes are great time wasters and they're a good way to take your mind of stressful matters. They've been around forever but that doesn't make them any less fun. Plus, if someone on your shopping list has been naughty, you can get them of these and watch as they get increasingly frustrated with it. Dance, puppets, dance!

Klean Kanteen

Water is the essence of life and most of us don't drink enough of it; yes, sugary sodas and energy drinks are all the rage but at the end of the day, you have to drink water. It's good for your health and it's cheap (forget the bottled stuff and buy a filter pitcher). But did you know that a lot of plastic water bottles contain harmful chemicals that can leech into your water? This is why we like the Klean Kanteen; its stainless steel construction ensures that your water stays pure; it also has a spill proof cap that lets you clip it onto your backpack or hip. We also appreciate the cool colorful design.

Airzooka

The Airzooka is a cleverly design toy that lets you shoot a harmless ball of air up to 30 feet; you just aim, pull back on the handle and let it loose. It's perfect for messing with your co-workers and pets; hit them with a surprise shot when they least expect it and watch as the hilarity ensures. But best of all, because you're just shooting air around, you guarantee that no one will get hurt.

Kingston DT Mini-Slim

USB thumb drives are getting cheaper and cheaper by the minute but they're also getting smaller and smaller too; witness the DT Mini-Slim from Kingston. These postage stamp sized USB drives offer tons of space (up to 8GB) and they're insanely tiny. We've been road-testing a 4GB unit and we absolutely love it; it takes up almost zero space in our backpack but still packs enough storage for all of our needs. Best of all, they're cheap, clocking in at a mere $14.

Moleskine Notebooks

We absolutely love Moleskine notebooks; they're classy and they make you look scholarly no matter what you happen to be jotting down. You're probably using some cheap notebook that you bought in bulk from the local office supply store, which is pretty lame of you, so upgrade to one of these finely constructed notebooks; it'll make commiting even your most idiotic ramblings to paper feel worthwhile. We prefer the Large Address Book, but they have tons of other models for you to choose from.

Crayola Crayons

Remember crayons? Man, when we were young, we used to go through boxes of the stuff. We'd draw space ships and aliens and monsters and rainbows; why don't we do stuff like that anymore? Where did our childhood go? Well, that's probably a question better left for our therapist. Now, whether it's for a youngster, an artistically inclined family member or just for your own amusement, a box of crayons is a great way to recapture your lost youth or to inspire someone to artistic glory. They're awesomely cheap too.

Take in a ballgame!

Did you know that some major league baseball stadiums have bleacher seats and nosebleed sections that are less than $20 a ticket? Sure, the view usually sucks but there's nothing quite like taking in a ball game: the open air, the sunshine, the crack of the bat-it's awesome. Sure, baseball season is done and over with (congrats Phillies fans) but it's going to come back around before you know it, so make a promise to someone in your life that you'll take them to a game; then, as the game wears on, casually make your way down to one of the more expensive seats. Play it right and you could eventually end up sitting behind the dugout telling a multi-millionaire how much he sucks at his job.

You better believe it. Best of all, the posters are pretty affordable, with most coming in at less than ten bucks. Throw in a pack of thumbtacks or some scotch tape and you're done.

Darkstorn

Haha. Nice product placement. I also have yet to get a 'next-gen' console.

eday_2010

Cool list. Though "hardcore gamer" is just another term for someone who has nothing better to do with their life.

hiphophippy27

Yeah, nice list. I'm definitely going to get some of these things, such as the iPhone 3G and the DARK Night in FABULOUS Blu-ray

doyleman7

How rich do you think I am? Awesome list, but a new TV, a car, an iphone? gawd, good thing I don't have to buy them all!

Your_Worst_Nightmare
