Size Matters: We Go Face to Face with the Monstrously Huge Leviathan!
Throughout the Chicago level that we played, we encountered Chimera forces consisting of all shapes and sizes. Hunter-killer drones patrolled the skies. Ghoulish Grims infested the back alleys. An amphibious Fury circled the waters around us menacingly as we hopped across half-submerged cars. But nothing prepared us for what we encountered next.
It's called the Leviathan. When Insomniac Games began work on Resistance 2, the project leader playfully suggested that the team include a boss monster that was 100 feet tall. "We did him one better," says senior designer Drew Murray. "We gave him a 300-foot tall monster!" The Leviathan is a stunning sight: it towers over skyscrapers, swats aircraft out of the sky like gnats, and instantly demotes other video game bosses to plastic action figures.
At first, you'll only catch quick, Cloverfield-style glimpses of the Leviathan as it prowls past (and through) the Chicago skyline. But before long, you'll get an up-close look when the Leviathan grabs Hale and tries to swallow him whole, like an elephant popping a Tic-Tac. During these moments, you must fire rockets down the Leviathan's enormous mouth in order to escape death-by-snacking.
This 300-foot goliath called the 'Leviathan' is every bit as powerful as he looks, able to squash you like a mere insect with ease.
Even helicopters are no match for the Leviathan's devastating wrath.
The answer comes when Hale receives urgent new orders. A demolitions team has hastily rigged an explosive charge to a nearby bridge, and the resulting explosion may be enough to take out the Leviathan once and for all. Hale must now position the beast under the bridge, so he lures it closer bit by bit, firing LAARK rockets to draw its attention.
Just as the Leviathan moves within range of the bomb, the plan goes heart-stoppingly wrong. We won't spoil exactly how the battle ends, but it's a spectacular set piece and just one of several major boss encounters in Resistance 2's Campaign.

Epic is how'd I describe Resistance 2's scope. Big competitive games with lots of players, big boss battles in the single player campaign (and the storyline is much more indepth than you'd ever imagine...anyone see the ARG?), and hordes of chimera to kill with friends in the coop. Can't wait for this one!

Just look at that slimy beast. Can't wait to battle him when the final version of Resistance 2 hits.

This game looks to be absolutly sick. Online looks to be one of the best ever. Plus i just got to say the boxart looks sick also. I just have to say that is the coolest box art cover i have ever seen.
