GamePro Labs Gadget and Gear Roundup (2 of 8)

Edifier Lifestyle e3350

What is it: A slick and stylish 2.1 speaker set for personal computers. It features two satellite speakers with an RMS rating of 9w each as well as a subwoofer with an RMS rating of 32w. It plugs right into your PC's soundcard via a 3.5mm jack; a convenient control pod lets you regulate volume and not only features a headphone jack but a handy dandy AUX input so you can plug in your MP3 player.

How does it perform: The speakers are a tad on the underpowered side but for everyday use, they perform just fine. We played music and played games using the e3350 and were impressed by the clarity and sound. The subwoofer didn't deliver as much bass as we would have liked but it got the job done.

What did you like about it: The control pod is a nice little feature. The fact that it housed not only a headphone jack but also an AUX jack was clever and much appreciated; it meant that we could easily pump our MP3 player's audio through the system, which was a nice touch. The system's eye catching design is also a definitely plus. It's also competitively priced with a $99 MSRP.

What didn't you like about it: The audio performance wasn't quite there for our hardcore gaming needs. The two satellites are also wired together via a connected cord, which made it harder to set up than a set with two independently wired satellites. We also didn't like that the only power button was located on the top of the subwoofer, which made it difficult to access.

So should I buy it: The e3350's audio performance won't blow you away but it's attractive design helps make up for its lack of power. If you don't mind sacrificing a little performance for aesthetics, then the e3350 is right up your alley.

Good article GamePro, but I won't be using any of those devices lol. I have a surround sound audio system for my PC, an iPod, and no need of $100 earbuds. And who in their right mind would buy a set of 2.1 speakers for ~$500-600 instead of buying a surround sound system instead?

I might use that 6 port charger though, but I'm worried about proper distribution of power to my devices. All it takes is one power spike or irregular power flow to destroy my iPod, PSP, or DS. For $45 it sounds too good to be true.

This Keyboard would definately fit my lifestlyle except for the price. if anyone knows where to get an awsome keyboard like this cheap they are stupid not to buy one for at least backup.

Sire

okay, now the keyboard is just getting into a HUGE console controller looking keyboard, it's funny, I can't really tell how big it is but if you held it like a big controller and used your thumbs, it's like a Spinal Tap looking thing. And wasn't there just an article on how console controllers have too many buttons?......Or maybe you can hold it to your chest like an autoharp...........what you need is a keyboard or controller in where you pull, rather than push the buttons, you know, like an old cigarette machine, kinda like an operators switchboard.

The Keyboard looks totally badass!!!! I see that there's multiples of some of the keys. The P button should be in a more convenient position, because in a lot of online games, P is pause, the all important function.
