How would you change Tony Hawk?

Tony Hawk games are stale. How would you change gaming's most recognizable skateboarding series?

How would you make the 10th Tony Hawk game?

How would you make the 10th Tony Hawk game?

9 iterations and it's finally hit the skids. Activision's Tony Hawk series is on the brink of its tenth title, and it needs a major upgrade. Minor gameplay tweaks from year to year are no longer going to cut it, and after losing out to EA's Skate on retail shelves, Activision knows it's time to make some changes.

Activision recently described a "Tony Hawk Innovation Plan," but we want to know how you, the gamer, would bring Tony Hawk back to its former glory. How would you make the tenth Tony Hawk game? How would it innovative, and how would it control? Lay down your comments and let us know!

Don't feel pressure to tack on some lame motion controls for Wii. Do it right or skip it. The Gamecube controller was always the best made for the Tony Hawk games, which is why all the pros played on Gamecube; consider programming support for it on Wii. On other platforms, I'm going to say that an engaging story and better levels would do the trick. Some drama would be cool, but don't overdo it. Maybe adding a parent who dislikes skating. Finally, bring back the 'round the world level concept. THUG took us to Hawaii, Vancouver and even Russia. Exotic locales to shred up have always been fun. Don't change the Button-based controls or the unrealistic physics. These are the things that made Tony Hawk great. Nobody's honestly impressed by "that guy who kickflipped into a two-second grind then landed it in a manual" from Skate. 100-million point combos have been a staple of the games and are a goal every twelve-year old player aspires to. Make sure you keep Eric.
