Toshiba Regza 40" 1080p LCD TV

MSRP: $2499
Website: www.toshiba.com

We're guessing that the number one item on most people's holiday wish lists is a brand new HDTV, and with good reason: a big screen HDTV can transform your living room into what it's always meant to be--a place for your family to hang out. There are tons of awesome HDTV's out there but when you're doing your holiday shopping, we strongly suggest you consider the Toshiba Regza line. These TV's not only deliver a crisp 1080p picture but its super thin bezel ensures that it doesn't take up a lot of room.

We've been glued to review unit ever since it landed in the office. We've thrown games, movies and regular old television at it and it handled them like Einstein solving a fifth-grade level math problem.

Seriously, if you're still gaming on a bulky CRT or you haven't experienced a full 1080p picture, then you should strongly consider buying one this holiday season. Just make sure to put the Toshiba Regza on your list of models to check out.

RTV VEG-N

MSRP: $159
Website: www.rtv-veg.com

The VEG-N, which stands for Visual Entertainment Generator, is as interesting as its strange name. It's a hardware box that allows you to watch television on your laptop or computer; it also acts as a DVR solution, letting you record television shows for later viewing. You can also hook up a game console and play it on your laptop as well; the bonus here is that it can help improve the image quality, especially of older consoles like the PS2 and original Xbox.

If you're glued to your computer 24 hours a day, then you might want to consider getting your hands on one of these; that way, you can watch television while you surf the web. You can also set up the DVR to record your favorite shows in case you want to disappear into WoW or Team Fortress 2 for a while, meaning you won't ever miss an episode of Spongebob ever again.

Sony LocationFree Base Station

MSRP: $249.99
Website: www.sony.com/locationfree

Ever since the Slingbox first debuted, we've been saying that the PSP would be a perfect device to use it with. Unfortunately, a PSP version of the Slingbox player never materialized, probably because Sony was developing the LocationFree, a device that does pretty much the same thing. You hook the LocationFree up to your satellite or cablebox, connect it to your broadband and faster than you can say 'Scooby-doo reruns,' you're watching television on your laptop, cell phone or any other Internet-enabled device, including the PSP. It's slick and easy as pie, so if you're always on the go and your PSP is riding shotgun, then the LocationFree is a no-brainer.

Now, instead of staring off into space after a marathon session of Final Fantasy Tactics, you can switch over and watch a little TV to unwind. Heck, add in the PSP's movie and music playback capabilities and you've got yourself one of the most powerful handheld entertainment devices around.
