Unreal Tournament III

The Hype:

UT III is, first and foremost, an online experience that can't be missed. There are a generous amount of gameplay modes including a version of "capture the flag" using vehicles. One of the most exciting things about UT IIIl is a level editor and the ability for users to create mods. Users can even test out levels while editing them. Creating mods is now easier than event and requires little to no programming experience.

Why You Want To Play It:

Though only computer users (Windows, Linux, and Mac) will be able to make levels and mods, they will be available to PS3 owners though the PlayStation Store. A new weapon class called Deployables allows devices like the Spider Mind and Stasis Field, a gelatinous cube that slows down players, to deploy at will.

Frontlines: Fuel of War

The Hype:

Most of the action on the battlefield happens on the frontlines, and that's what Fuel of War is all about. The gameplay takes place in the fray of battle, and you'll have to push the frontline back to gain territory, vehicles and ammunition. The tactical level of gameplay is deep and with more than 60 available vehicles and weapons, it has more content than you can shake a landmine at.

Why You Want To Play It:

One of the more intriguing gameplay mechanics is the use of UAV drones. These unmanned units are used to gather information on the enemy that is displayed on your heads-up display. When you're done with these guys, you can blow them up to take out nearby enemies. This adds a depth to strategy that will truly shine in the multiplayer experience.

Turok

The Hype:

This is Turok re-imagined and rebooted. Throw whatever you though you knew about this game out the window. This time it's all about survival in an alien environment packed with monstrous creatures, as you track down your mentor that's turned to the dark side. A large portion of the game play is based on stealth, where you can use arrows, knifes and even dinosaurs to attract enemies' attention while you go in for the silent kill.

Why You Want To Play It:

Turok sports awesomely ravenous dinosaurs that are intent on making you a quick lunch. The multiplayer modes have the added danger of these giant beasts attacking while you're fighting your enemies in jungle environments. The "dinosaur-hunting" multiplayer mode might steal the show, especially if the ability to play as a raptor is included.
